Alicia and Gary Manchester Grand Hyatt and North Island Wedding

A lovely day of wedding photography for Alicia and Gary that began at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego, CA for pre-wedding photos then continued on to the couple’s Naval Air Station North Island wedding and reception in Coronado, California. NAS North Island is another of the many nice Navy Region Southwest wedding venues where I’ve had the pleasure of photographing weddings. For Alicia and Gary, their North Island wedding ceremony would be on the lawn of the golf course adjacent to their reception venue at Sea ‘N Air 19th Hole Restaurant & Lounge.

The couple’s 8-hours of photography started when I met bride Alicia, her bridesmaids and her mom to capture their pre-wedding, getting ready shots at the Hyatt. The getting ready photos captured some the final hair and makeup artistry, wedding accessories like shoes and bouquets, and of course bride Alicia’s lovely wedding dress. A dress which was all hand made by her close family friend. The three bridesmaids each wore a different colored dress, which I thought added nice contrast and color to the wedding.

Once the ladies got dressed and I captured photos of them in their suite at Manchester Grand Hyatt, our photography schedule for the couple’s North Island wedding had us ready to leave to hotel to begin making our way across the bay to Coronado. The eventful rain from earlier in the day had finally stopped and the sky began to clear, which was perfect timing so that we could get some wedding photos at nearby Seaport Village. Following the bayside wedding photos, the ladies then drove off in their long limousine for Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island in Coronado, California.

Awaiting our arrival at North Island was Gary, his groomsmen, and the couple’s 100 plus wedding guests. Gary and the guys were wearing nice light grey suits with contrasting orange color tones. Alicia was escorted down the aisle of her and Gary’s wedding ceremony by the men were important in her life. And before the couple exchanged wedding vows the bride and groom’s parents also shared in the ceremony by together lighting unity candles. Also as part of the couple’s North Island wedding ceremony they would have a sand ceremony as well.

At the conclusion of the couple’s lovely wedding ceremony, guests waved orange streamers and congratulated the couple then they enjoyed a cocktail hour while I created a collection of wedding photos for the family, wedding party and couple. The golf course for the North Island wedding made for a great setting with it’s green lawn trees and pond, and we could even see some of San Diego in the distance.

The couple’s North Island wedding reception in the Sea ‘N Air 19th Hole Restaurant was decorated very nicely and accented in warm orange that couple like and made part of their wedding day color. Master of Ceremonies and DJ for the evening was mastered by the talented DJ Jeremy Hersch. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jeremy before, and as always his sound system had just the right quality and volume, and his selection of music seemed perfect for the guests, too. I photographed throughout the evening for  couple’s North Island wedding reception, capturing all of the key moments like grand entrance, toast, meal, dances, cake cutting, and bouquet and garter tosses.

Alicia and Gary’s North Island wedding photos were a true delight to create, prepare and share here for the couple. With their online gallery of images, DVD of all images in high resolution, a collection framable prints, and large Standout print ready to hang, they’ll have the makings of a timeless and beautiful keepsakes of their wedding day.
