Brittany and Blake Camp Pendleton Wedding

Camp Pendleton is the major West Coast base of the United States Marine Corps. Located next to the beautiful Southern California coastline in San Diego County, it’s home to thousands of our servicemen and women. It’s also where Brittany and Blake held their Camp Pendleton wedding, since Blake is stationed here. The adorable couple were joined by three generations of family and close friends who flew across the country for a perfect Southern California destination beach wedding.

Camp Pendleton is located in San Diego County, so it was an easy matter for Brittany to find me when looking for San Diego wedding photographers, though actually it was her maid honor that first contacted me, and I’m very glad she did. It’s always wonderful for me to photograph weddings, but what I like most is meeting the wonderful couples, like Brittany and Blake, so that I can share in their day in order to create beautiful wedding photos for them.

I’ve photographed on Camp Pendleton on only a couple of prior occasions, so being there again as the couple’s beach wedding photographer was a delight. With all the joy shared between the couple and their family and friends, it was fun as always for me as I went about creating beautiful Camp Pendleton wedding photos for the couple.

The nice and moderate California weather surely helped, too. Though there were some evening clouds, what we call the marine layer, it was actually a very good thing because of the diffuse lighting, texture to the sky, and colors it added the sky and ocean. You’ll be able to see what I mean as you look through some of my San Diego wedding photographer favorites here on this page.

Brittany and Blake’s Camp Pendleton wedding took place at the Del Mar Beach Resort on base, where chairs and a bamboo arch were setup by event staff. The ceremony was officiated beautifully by Bob Dilley, and included acoustic guitar and vocals. There were many other highlights to their wedding, including how wonderfully Bob officiant involved the families and the virtues he spoke of in marriage. The couple also held a sand ceremony that incorporated the sand of the beach they were sanding on, as well as decanters of colored sand. They poured the three types of sand into a nice box with a glass window etched to commemorate their wedding day.

With Brittany’s lovely white wedding dress, its black embroidery and her long flowing veil made for more fun and creative opportunities for some nice wedding photos. The breeze of the shore helped her veil and dress flow, and the movement between her and Blake was also natural and beautiful. Their Camp Pendleton wedding photos captured moments posed and in motion, as you can see here.
