What a nice mix of great wedding shots at The Abbey San Diego wedding for Desiree and Jason. The couple’s day of San Diego wedding photography started with bridal photos of bride Desiree in her beautiful low-back, mermaid wedding dress. Together, we captured a nice collection of bridal photos for Desiree in front of the nice stained glasses at The Abbey, both in the second floor bridal suite and on the staircase that lead to the entrance on the first floor.
Being careful to keep the bride out of the groom Jason’s eyesight was pretty easy, because he was busy outdoors greeting and talking with the 130 plus wedding guests for the couple’s The Abbey San Diego wedding. The Abbey San Diego is housed in a beautiful, historic structure dating back to 1910. It is located in the heart of uptown San Diego, next door to Balboa Park.
With cathedral ceilings and a dozen stained glass windows, wonderful columns, the overall striking embodiment of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture sure helped make for some nice wedding photos. Perhaps a tad tricky for photography lighting and deep field of view shots, but still a lovely wedding venue.
If the warmth and joy shared and shown by all of the wedding guests was any indication, I’d have to say that Desiree and Jason sure have a lot of family and genuine friends. I’m sure it’s a testament to how nice the couple are and that made photographing The Abbey San Diego wedding for the pair even more enjoyable. The energy, happiness, and even perfectly-timed lightheartedness sure helps with creating great wedding photography, as you can see this selection of some of my best San Diego wedding photographer favorite photos of the couple.
