Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association San Diego Convention Center Photos
The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), co-sponsored with the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), recently held their 2014 Annual Assembly at the San Diego Convention Center and Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The multi-day assembly in San Diego required event photography of their awards winners, luncheon, exhibit hall booths, membership meeting, and of their Board. Photography of awards winners included shots of awardees receiving their awards on-stage in front of conference audience, and individual posed portrait headshot photos.
The posed headshot photos that I created for the awardees were more like portraits. By taking advantage of natural lighting, color elements in the background and a short depth of field, nicer photos of the awardees were made than if I had used the usual plain backdrop. These natural-looking, San Diego Convention Center photos of awardee portraits will be used by the HPNA for its marketing. Other San Diego Convention Center photos included shots of the HPNA’s booth in the Center’s exhibit hall and of the membership meeting in one of the large conference rooms. Downtown at the Hilton, Convention Center, and other resorts is a location where I often provide San Diego event photography.

The Hilton San Diego Bayfront was the site of the luncheon that was photographed, as well as the venue for the initial awards photography. The awards photos captured recipients for the following:
