Julia and JD Riverwalk Golf Course Wedding Photography

There’s a number of reasons why nice golf courses like Riverwalk Golf Course make for ideal wedding venues, and it’s why Julia and J.D. chose this Mission Valley, San Diego location for their lovely wedding. For one, their Riverwalk Golf Course wedding was really easy to get to, but some of the most important reasons for choosing this San Diego wedding venue was the beautiful setting, complete service, and price.

As a wedding photographer in San Diego, my perspective on a venue is focused on how I can make the best wedding photos for a couple. Well, the Riverwalk Golf Course wedding venue definitely met my goal for creating a wonderful collection of wedding photos for Julia and J.D.. Posted here are some of my wedding photographer favorites from their Riverwalk Golf Course wedding.

What I think stands out are some of the shots of Julia and J.D. out on the golf course and on the arching bridge. As you can see, it’s the beautifully cared for lawns and landscape at golf course like Riverwalk that can really help make for great wedding photography. And each golf course wedding often has it’s own distinct features which can make for even more unique wedding photos. At Julia and J.D.’s Riverwalk Golf Course wedding the arched bridge was one distinct feature, and it made for the perfect accent to photos of the wedding party, their family, and of the newlyweds.

The landscaping of greenery, flowers, and water at Riverwalk are features I used to help create beautiful shots for the couple’s wedding photography. Take a look at the different wedding photos where I’ve photographed the couple either in the background or foreground of water features, like the ponds and waterfalls. These are just a few of the many various shots on the golf course, but in all cases my goal for good wedding photography was to create comfortable posing and properly using available and artificial light. The couple’s early evening wedding helped with great natural lighting, which I accented with some strobe lighting and the all-important post-shoot photo editing.

Just as special as the golf course wedding venue was Julia’s wedding dress. Her strapless top, layered bodice, and open leg wedding dress looked gorgeous. Her up-do hair was a perfect accent, because her neckline added to the open feel of the dress and made Julia look lovely. Her simple pink rose bouquet was a very nice accent to the groom and groomsmen’s boutonniere’s and ties. And with J.D. alongside her in his dark grey suit the couple looked quite splendid.

Julia and J.D.’s Riverwalk Golf Course wedding was attended to by their family and friends, many of whom travelled far, even as far away as Germany. You can even see underneath the nice white with orange-banded wedding cake the couple’s clever display of both American and German flags to acknowledge the melding of two cultures. Julia’s father in fact spoke eloquently and creatively about the couple’s blended backgrounds.

The entire wedding was catered to by Riverwalk Golf Course, who’s venue, food and service was excellent. The evening’s master of ceremonies and DJ was performed wonderfully by Steve Colucci of Weddings Fantastic. Steve’s selection of music, orchestration of the really fun Shoe Game was really well designed for making the couple’s wedding even more memorable.
