Des and Mike’s San Diego Bayside wedding photos captured their complete wedding day, from getting ready through their ceremony and reception. The happy event was hosted at Admiral Kidd Catering and Conference Center on Naval Base Point Loma at the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command in San Diego, California. Admiral Kidd offers one of the nicest views of San Diego Bay and the San Diego skyline, and it’s a location where we often photograph many weddings and events.
The creation of Des and Mike’s day of San Diego bayside wedding photos began when I arrived in the afternoon to start with shooting their getting ready photos in the cottages and hotel. The wedding photography began first with Des and her bridesmaids, then with Mike and his groomsmen. At the afternoon progressed, associate and second wedding photographer Derrick arrived. Leading up to helping shoot the wedding ceremony, Derrick first stated with photographing the tables and decor for the reception. He then progressed into shots of the groomsmen receiving their boutonnieres, as well as of the guests excitedly awaiting the start of the ceremony.
By this time I was photographing Des as she was finishing with getting ready in the bridal room at the main building of the Admiral Kidd conference center. With time drawing nearer to the start of the ceremony, both of us wedding photographers positioned ourselves at the ceremony location, on the lawn overlooking San Diego Bay and the downtown skyline.
Second wedding photographer Derrick would be shooting from the second floor balcony, capturing great perspectives of the wedding procession and ceremony. Meanwhile I would be at ground level and moving about shooting the wide range of wedding ceremony photography perspectives that I typically capture. I’ve included in the accompanying San Diego Bayside wedding photos a couple of images that show the positions that we two wedding photographer used. The wonderful views of San Diego and the bay really complimented Des and Mike’s wedding ceremony, and this is one of the great features of hosting an event like this at Admiral Kidd. But of course it’s the couple themselves that were the center of attention and for whom we created a wonderful story of wedding photos. With Minister James W. Rury officiating the couple’s wedding ceremony, piped through a great sound system (provided Primo of Primo DJ’s), the audience of wedding guests had no trouble hearing the eloquent words and vows of the ceremony.
Following the couple’s ceremony, and the great capturing of their San Diego Bayside wedding photos, we spent a bit of time creating a nice collection of family photos for the couple. While I was shooting the wedding and family portraits, second wedding photographer Derrick was busy getting portraits photos of the wedding guests, and more table and reception room photos. The room decor looked fantastic, with wonderful colors, lighting, accents, and the clever table numbering scheme of using side by side photos of Des and Mike at the same age as the table number. Table and reception room decor was created by Jamie of Events by Jamie, and she created the wonderful flower bouquets, too.
Second wedding photographer shots continued through the start of the wedding reception, but for the balance of the evening reception the one wedding photography of myself was enough to capture all of the celebration and party. Having the second photography for just a few hours during the core part of the wedding day really helped get a lot more San Diego Bayside wedding photos for the couple. In all, over 12oo final wedding photos were created for the couple, and each of these photos went through the multi-step, post-shoot photo editing process to ensure that the photos all look great and are print-ready. Of course, the final set of images that the couple will choose for their photographic prints and wall-art print will receive even further editing, giving them wonderful printed wedding photos.
With so many great shots in the couple’s collection of San Diego Bayside wedding photos, the very best way for them to really enjoy them is going to be in one of my beautiful and affordable, Italian-made wedding albums. From the lovely album covers, though the personalized photo story that the books contain, these heirloom keepsake excite the senses with each turn of the page. And when paired with a smaller book copy for each parent, their family will also have a timeless keepsake to always remember this special wedding day.
