Jasmine and Kevin, just married at their Marina Village wedding in San Diego, California

Marina Village, a wonderful and popular wedding and reception venue, adjacent to boats, palms, and the water of Mission Bay. And it was fun photographing here again, this time for the very nice couple of Jasmine and Kevin, to create their Marina Village wedding photography in San Diego. The photography started with shots of the decorated reception ballroom, the arrival of the guests, and then the wedding ceremony on the nearby lawn.

The weather and wedding at Marina Village on this January day were great, just like the couple and their very nice collection of wedding photos. some of which are featured here. You can see more of the couple’s digital wedding photography collection by visiting my San Diego Wedding Photographer Client Galleries (password required). And in this description and collection of photos you can get some nice wedding ideas about the couple’s day.

While the guests were getting seated, Jasmine was waiting in her father’s car nearby, ready to for her dad to walk her down the aisle. A white cloth runner atop the lawn lead the way to Kevin who was waiting for her and their ceremony. The ceremony for Jasmine and Kevin’s Marina Village wedding photography in San Diego was officiated by the always-delightful Reverend Cathy Glenn of Ever After Weddings, who delivered a genuine and eloquent union for the couple.

The couple’ wedding included a sand ceremony which was participated in by both mothers and the couple. The mom’s poured their sand in to the container first, making the foundation upon which Jasmine and Kevin would pour in their sand. I photographed the wedding ceremony in my favorite style, which was to shoot from number of directions and angles using both cameras and a selection of lenses.

Following the ceremony and all the congratulations that the couple received, it was time for shoot a number of posed family portraits that couple wanted. We starting with the largest combination of people and worked our way to smaller groups, and finally to just the couple. This is my preferred order to shoot these important wedding photos so that guests enjoy themselves at the cocktail hour while the couple and I can focus on just there photos for a bit.

Marina Village wedding photography of receptions are held indoors in one of the many ballrooms or meeting rooms. The rooms are always decorated and catered events. For Jasmine and Kevin’s wedding reception they used Affordable Wedding Catering. But it was also Jasmine’s mom and others that made fantastic Laotian food for the wedding guests. There in fact was a nice blend of American and Laotian wedding customs throughout the couple’s Marina Village wedding, some of which you can see in these wedding photos.
