The San Diego region for Discount Tire recently held their annual awards celebration at the Hyatt La Jolla Regency at Aventine and my three assistants and I were on hand to provide event photography for the evening. With about 500 attendees present for the awards presentations and employee recognition, it was a fun and fast-paced event that included 6 hours of active event photography and two posed photos stations where we captured poses of couples and groups.
As in previous years for which we’ve provided event photography for Discount Tire’s annual awards celebrations, we also created two posed photography backdrop stations. One station had a formal backdrop while the other backdrop was more festive. Both stations included studio lighting. The formal backdrop included ‘bouquets’ of feathers, which, like the flower arrangements used in the ballroom, was created by Valley Center Florists.
And this year’s theme for the company’s event was a masquerade, so the company chose a hand-painted backdrop featuring masks. In this article you can see several samples of the final posed photos from each of the two backdrop stations. To complete this part of the event photography, products include professional 5×7″ print of each posed photo and presented in a fine portrait folder, complete with Discount Tire and America’s Tire company logo embossing.
Another important component in the evening of event photography was to capture a posed group photo of each of the store mangers and the executive team. This photo was created at the stage area in the Aventine Ballroom at the Hyatt La Jolla, which is the awards ceremony and dinner was also held. As with previous years for providing event photography for San Diego’s Discount Tire, the posed managers’ photo will be printed in 16×24″ size and framed with a double mat to hang in the company’s boardroom at their corporate office.
Discount Tire will receive a disk of all of the evening’s photos, as well as a commemorative book of photos from their awards celebration. The book, created in the same quality and style as the finest wedding albums that I make for my wedding couples, will feature a nice variety of the posed photos, recipients receiving their awards, the presenters, candid photos, and the venue. With the fantastic venue created by the Hyatt, the photos in the album are going to look fantastic. The album will be on display at the Discount Tire corporate office in Poway, CA..
