I get to photograph a lot of weddings and even some anniversaries from time to time. But it’s not so common to photograph a 50th wedding anniversary. Isn’t that a nice long time for a couple to be together? It was a delight creating the collection of wedding anniversary photos for Jim and Sharon’s 50th, which they celebrated with their family and friends at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.
The Rancho Bernardo Inn is a lovely resort, and a venue where I’ve provided quite a few event photography sessions for companies and several wedding photography sessions, too. The resort’s architecture, grounds, facilities and service make it a very fine event and wedding venue. But for Jim and Sharon, the resort provided more than just the perfect location for their wedding anniversary photos. The couple, their family and friends came together from across the country to enjoy time together, while being treated to private meal and wonderful dining experience created exclusively for them and in person by Executive Chef Travis Watson.
The photography to capture the wedding anniversary photos began with creating nice portraits of the group of 14 family and friends. The portraits were captured both outdoors and indoors at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. The portrait session soon lead into the dining portion of the wedding anniversary party. Seated around a fabulous round, old oak table in a private dining room just off the wine cellar, complete with it’s own kitchen, the group were treated to the seasonal, sustainable, nutritious and delicious food creations of Executive Chef Travis. The candid shots captured during portion of the party helped round out a nice collection of wedding anniversary photos.
