Lindsay and James La Jolla Engagement Photos
It wasn’t a completely typical Southern California Spring weather day for creating beach-themed and urban-like, La Jolla engagement photos. But then again, Lindsay and James aren’t your average couple either. They are so vibrant and fun, and very much in love. I’m very happy with their engagement photography session, and certainly really happy to have had the time with them.
For me, it was also great that we had stormy weather with dark skies and wind. I liked it! The conditions made for adding such great texture to Lindsay and James’ engagement photos. Sure, blue skies are wonderful, too, but what we had was something extra and special; again, very apropos. And for me, engagement photography sessions are so wonderful for the relaxed, creative time spent with couples to make something special from before being married, and for the fun way to get we to know each other before the wedding day.
You’ll notice on this page, in this collection of some of my favorites of Lindsay and James’ La Jolla engagement photos, that we spent a fair amount of time shooting along the beautiful streets and homes in this upscale coastal neighborhood. By using elements of landscaping, architecture, and variations in time, we shot something a little different in engagement photography. We are fortunate in San Diego to have such a nice variety of locations for engagement photography, and all in close proximity to each other. So, it’s easy, fun, and a real plus to have wonderful urban elements for street photography, then just steps away some of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California. All of those features are perfectly suited to engagement, wedding, and even portrait photography. Of course, portrait photography can be distinct in itself, even though it’s a component of engagement and wedding photography.
