‘Happy Birthday Rishaan. It was fun capturing your one-year, first birthday party photography at Waypoint Public in San Diego, California.’ With his parents, family and friends all gathered for the noon-time birthday celebration, amidst a wonderfully decorated space, it was a very nice event photography session.
In the span of just an hour and a half of the event party photography, a pretty nice collection of photos was created. The photography started with captured Rishaan and his parents’ arrival, shots of everyone greeting them and of many taking a selphy with Rishaan, The event photography then captured the cutting of the birthday cake, which was made in the shape of the Minion movie character.
The topper to Rishaan birthday cake also made for his ‘smash cake’. At first he liked smashing into this smaller cake, but then he wasn’t so sure. After all, we don’t often encourage children to mash food with their hands, so I can imagine that both the texture and concept felt a bit strange to him. At least the birthday party photography captured the moment.
A pull string piñata in the shape of the number 1 was next on the list of things for Rishaan to do. It was a bit tricky for him to pull strong enough on the strings to make the candy fall from the piñata, but with a little help the treats soon spilled out. The anticipation and the shiny confetti scattering about all made for a nice little series of shots in the birthday party photography. Following a game or two, posed photos with all the guests, and some more venue photos and the afternoon of event photography was complete.
The collection of reviews I have on Yelp helped Rishaan’s mom find me, and with a few emails we soon worked out the nice event photography package to capture Rishaan’s birthday party. The package included the photography, an online gallery of images, a set of prints, and downloads of all images to share with family and friends. And with so many great photos and of such an important first birthday, their photos will look great in a wonderful keepsake birthday party book, complete with presentation box and all hand-made in Italy!
