American Liver Foundation Liver Life Walk 2013

Andrew Abouna Photography is proud to have donated professional photographic services to the American Liver Foundation in support of Liver Life Walk 2013 at Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. This was my third year in helping the foundation as their San Diego Photographer. And this year the foundation raised over $103,966.60! See all the details below.

Moving forward…to a future free of liver disease. That is the goal the volunteers and staff of the American Liver Foundation® work toward every day. You can join them and make a difference as a participant in the Liver Life Walk®. Your participation will keep us moving forward in the fight against one of America’s fastest growing public health concerns — liver disease.

Take part in this scenic 5k or 1.5k through the world famous San Diego Zoo!  The entire walk is within the Zoo’s grounds and registered participants will get readmission to the Zoo for the rest of the day!  The walk starts at the North side of the Zoo’s main parking lot on the lawn of the War Memorial Building.  Walkers and runners will then cross the parking lot and enter the Zoo’s special events gate where they can enjoy a 1.5k flat route or the scenic 5k route through the Zoo!  The finish line is back on the War Memorial lawn where participants will enojoy a celebration with music and fun!

Online Registration will close on Friday, May 10th at 10:00 AM.  Walk-up registration will be available on the morning of the event.

2013 Walk Registration Rates:
Before December 31st, 2012 – FREE to register!
January 1st- February 8th – $15 per adult; $10 per child
February 8th- May 11th – $35 per adult; $25 per child

*Child (ages 3-11); Adult (ages 12 and up)

2013 Walk Schedule:
Check-In/Registration: 6:15-7:30 AM
Opening Ceremony: 7:00 AM
Start Time: 7:30 AM
After Party: 8:00-10:30 AM

*Participants will have the choice of running/walking the 1.5k or 5k route through the Zoo.  Once walkers have entered the Zoo, there will be volunteers and signs showing which way to go for the “short route”  and which way for the “long route”.  Each particiapant can determine which route they want as they go.  Each participant will cross the finshline back on the War Memorial builging’s lawn and enjoy an after party with music and refreshments.  Once the Zoo reopens to the general public, registered participants will be able to reenter the Zoo for the day with their registration bracelet on.

Event Location:

The Start/Finish line is on the lawn of the War Memorial Building.  Enter the Zoo’s main parking lot at 2929 Zoo Drive San Diego, CA 92101  and head to the far right-hand or North side of the parking lot.  There you will see the registration/ check-in tables and be able to take advantage of free and abundant parking in the Zoo’s main lot.
