Like many weddings that I photograph I get to enjoy capturing wedding days that include a couple’s ceremony and reception. For Jenn and John, their Carlsbad wedding ceremony and reception photography occurred at two different venues. In lieu of getting ready photos, I first met up with John then Jenn, as she arrived in one of Royalty Limousine’s very fine SUV limo in San Diego in the nice care of owner Ali Zanjani. From the moment Jenn arrived, and was escorted by her father who walked her down the sandy aisle, at the beach for her and John’s Carlsbad wedding, all the way the way through the couple’s Booze Brothers Brewing reception in Vista, California, the couple’s day was full of happiness and captured wonderfully in their wedding photography.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a number of weddings in Carlsbad, California, both on the beach and in various resorts. And it’s no wonder this area in North San Diego County city is popular. The very nice beaches and top resorts make Carlsbad, California a sought-location for local and destination weddings alike. You just have to look on this page at these some of my Carlsbad wedding photographer favorite photos of Jenn an John’s wedding to see why the beach is perfect for a wedding. I liked the accepting bamboo and palm posts that John placed in the sand, and the edging of stones places around the ceremony site. It’s details like this that really personalize a wedding ceremony and help make for great compassion in the wedding photos.
Another feature that’s great about Carlsbad beach wedding photography, is the low position of the afternoon sun. I think it can work wonders when captured and edited properly. The low sun position of the sun can make for some dramatic, brilliant lighting that backdrops the couple the couple during the ceremony. It was this feature of the sun, and evenly positioning Jenn and John, that she and spoke about in the weeks leading up to her wedding.
I knew the wedding photography results I wanted to achieve for the couple, and I knew the over-arching important of lighting in wedding photography. It’s details like like lighting and position thatI always like to talk with wedding couples about to help in planning for the best day of wedding photography. You’ll see that the strong backlighting of the sun also really helps with accenting the natural blues and translucense of the breaking waves, some of which are composed with just the couple during their ceremony.
Following the Carlsbad wedding ceremony, we captured some posed photos with all of the guests on the Highway 101 bridge, various group photos on the beach, as well as a some posed and natural-looking wedding photography of just the couple. Aside from the requisite posed photos, it’s natural, unposed, and creative photos that are my preference to capture for couples.
Keeping an eye on our wedding day schedule, it was soon time to drive to the Booze Brothers Brewing Company in Vista, CA., for Jenn and John’s wedding reception. I arrived a bit ahead of Ali’s limo with the wedding part inside, and this gave me the time I wanted to photograph some of the setup and of the guests awaiting the newlywed’s arrival. And it also gave me time to coordinate again with DJ Michael of Get DJs Event Services. Photography and DJ coordination is a very important part of wedding planning and ensuring that the key moments in the reception are not missed and that the schedule is kept on track. DJ Michael sure did a great job of not only helping make sure he and I were on the same page all the time, but his selection of music and quality of sound system were really great, too.
Booze Brothers Brewery hosted a really easy-going wedding reception for Jenn and John. They had nice outdoor patio space complete with space for the pizza oven and taco making, as well as plenty of beer taps. The outdoor space made for plenty of room for dancing and it’s where DJ Michael had is sound equipment setup, and where the we heard some great toasts for Jenn and John. Indoors had great space, too, with lots of room for the photo booth, tables and various creating, and the full collection of beer taps. It was a great finish to the couple’s Carlsbad wedding.
Jenn and John’s Carlsbad wedding photography package includes a private online gallery of photos to view and share, a collection of prints, a DVD with all of their photos in high resolution and full print rights, and a nice mounted Standout print of another favorite image that’s ready to hang on their wall. And with so many great wedding photos that I created for the couple, the very best way for them to enjoy them is going to be in a beautiful, Italian-made wedding album so that their photos are always available to see, touch and share.
