It was a pleasure providing event photography, for the third consecutive year, the holiday party for the men and women of the USS Howard. Featured here are some of the event photos I captured at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego for their event. The evening began with the arrival and registration of attendees, followed by a nicely served dinner, hosted bars, great DJ’d music and dancing, and multiple sessions of raffling of great gifts. The fun holiday party was coordinated by the ship’s Moral, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program personnel.
The U.S. Navy USS Howard DDG 83 crew made is really a family who support each other, and this was captured in their party’s Hard Rock Hotel photos. For example, not only were great gifts raffled, but sometimes those who won the gift would give it to others! Also, there was strong friendships between small and large groups of individuals. Even a separate room with crafts and activities was made available so that children of the ship’s crew could also have fun.
After opening remarks by the ship’s captain, the sisters of the ship’s namesake were also recognized and spoke a few words. With that, a nice meal began being served by the excellent staff of the Hard Rock Hotel. The evening moved along nicely with coordination by the ship’s MWR director, and with a very selection and volume of music being created by DJ John Pistotti an evening of fun and dancing helped make for a great holiday evening.
