Liberty Station and San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography, two great places for Southern California wedding photos.
When Loren and Cody first visited my studio to talk about their wedding plans they’d already decided upon a yacht wedding, which was a perfect idea since Cody is a member of the United States Coast Guard. They also had their yacht selected for the wedding ceremony and reception, the 65 foot pleasure yacht ‘Fantasea’. What we still needed to do was work out was their San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography schedule.
Wedding photography scheduling is an essential component of all wedding day planning and something which is very important that I always collaborate on with couples. So when Cody and Loren said they wanted to be sure have some extra pre-wedding shoot time for their San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography, the idea quickly came up for choosing Liberty Station. Not only is was historic location befitting because it was once used by the military, but it also has a lot of nice architecture and landscaping, not to mention it’s relatively close to Marina Cortez on Harbor Island Marina, across from San Diego Airport, for couple’s San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography.
From a bit of last minute getting ready for the couple’s wedding photography through a relaxed and fun shoot at a few locations in Liberty Station, we created a really nice collection of wedding day photos. Cody looked great in his dress United States Coast Guard uniform, which made of a wonderful contrast to Loren’s lovely wedding dress and there surrounding’s at Liberty Station. Photographing with just the couple before the start time for their ceremony meant they’d have more time to spend with their family and friends aboard the yacht. So after about an hour and half pre-wedding shoot, we were off to the marina to start Loren and Cody’s San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography.
While waiting for some guests to arrive at the marina we captured some portraits with family and friends of Loren and Cody. Then once all guests were aboard and seated atop the yacht Fantasea it was time for their wedding ceremony. Loren’s father had the honor of giving her away to Cody. And one of the couple’s friends had the honor of officiating their wedding ceremony. Both the ceremony and the couple brought smiles, laughs and joy to all of their guests during ceremony and throughout the entire evening.
Though the ceremony was dockside, much of the remainder of the evening of the San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography was out on the water. As the yacht cruised out into the bay, the wedding guests enjoyed seeing the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights, a time-honored holiday tradition brought to San Diego by the boating community with more than 80 boats lavishly decorated for the holidays. And of course, we also saw the wonderfully lit nighttime skyline of San Diego, which also made for a nice backdrop for the couple’s San Diego Bay yacht wedding photography.
